The Lexington Farmers Market opens for its 6th season on Saturday.   Once again the market will be inside the historic freight depot on Railroad Street in Lexington.  This Saturday the market will be celebrating Passenger Rail Day at the Depot.  Davidson County TRIP is sponsoring the event.  The market will be open from 8AM-Noon.

At the market Saturday you will find freshly baked breads and sweets from Tis So Sweet, pasture raised pork, chicken and beef from Upper DC Cattle Company,  broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuces, radishes, flowers, plants and vegetable plants from a plethora of vendors.  Of course there will be strawberries as well.  Sandy Creek Farm is having their annual open house on Saturday so after you hit the market go out and visit their farm.  Brendasue has a lot of fun things planned for the day.

The Denton Community Farmers Market has also opened for the 2011 season.   The market is located on Salisbury Street across from Harrison Park.  Look for locally grown eggs, vegetable plants and pasture raised beef.  The Denton Community Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8am-Noon, and starting next Friday they will be open Friday afternoons from 3:30-8PM.  Go check it out.
